Abstract

This article presents the results referring to the data on the learning difficulties of students at the end of the cycle (3rd and 5th year), from a school in the peripheral region of the Municipality of Rio Claro-SP. The objective was to identify with a specific school community the profile of students appointed by their teachers as children with learning difficulties, describe what are the characteristics of these students and understand what resources and procedures adopted to meet them. Methodologically, a questionnaire was applied in which the teachers answered about the difficulties of their students, pointing out their cognitive, family and emotional characteristics. The school has an average of 670 students and the number represented by students with learning difficulties in the researched rooms, totals 81 students. The research enabled a better understanding of the theme of learning difficulties in the context of this school unit.
