Teacher indicators are statistical instruments used to support the understanding of the evolution of educational quality offered by educational networks and institutions, they allow to understand the influence that the characteristics of teaching work have on the teaching and learning process. This article aims to analyze data related to teacher indicators from two public schools in the state of Ceará, which in the 2019 edition of the Permanent Evaluation System for Basic Education of Ceará (SPAECE) were among the group of ten schools with the best and lower performance. A quanti-quali approach was used, with descriptive statistics to analyze the aforementioned indicators and review of legal documents and scientific papers dealing with the topic. The research showed that factors such as the level of teacher training, the adequacy of teacher training and the teaching effort index can influence the indicators of academic performance.
