Aims to foster a debate on the implication of the Common National Curriculum Base for Basic Education teacher training. In order to alter this scope, a detailed analysis of the aforementioned document and of the Common National Base for teacher training is outlined, at the interface with what authors such as Machado(2018), Neira(2018) and Tardif(2002) teach, which allow us to understand the requirements of the aforementioned Base for the contemporary educational context, with emphasis on the field of teacher training. It is concluded that the Common National Base for teacher training aims at the training of the professional adequate to the demands of the labour market, with performance based on skills and competences, which lead to classifying and not formative educational evaluations.
