Abstract

In the present work, we aim to reflect on the possible violence that can be committed in Mozambican schools and within the spaces in which the female unyago takes place. Thus, the intrinsic function is to analyze the rights of protection for the physical, educational, psychological and social development of young girls. However, we found studies that point to unyago as one of the causes of non-compliance with some laws regarding girls. Initiation rites are identified as the main cause of girls dropping out of school and a potential contributor to premature marriages in those communities. Therefore, from the reflection on some possible violence suffered by them, we try to point out ways for them to exercise their citizenship in these formative and emancipating spaces.

Sónia André, Universidade Pedagógica de Maputo

Doutora e Mestra em Educação pela UFAL, Especialista em Ensino da Arte-Musica, Licenciada em Música, Atriz, Produtora e Diretora de Cinema. Pesquisa sobre práticas tradicionais moçambicanas, juventudes e vulnerabilidades, povos não brancos e demais sujeitos/as e espaços periferizados/os. Saberes e espaços endógenos e indígenas, ritos e rituais, Educação em espaços, também não escolares. Outras formas de ser e estar mulheres, em particular de povos negros.

Lúcia Isabel da Conceição Silva, Universidade Federal do Pará

Doutora em Teoria e Pesquisa o Comportamento pela Universidade Federal do Pará (2006). Atualmente, é professora Associada III do quadro efetivo do Instituto de Ciências da Educação da Universidade Federal do Pará, sendo docente permanente do Programa de Pós-graduação em Educação da Universidade Federal do Pará. Líder do Grupos de Estudos e Pesquisa em Adolescência, Juventude, Fatores de Vulnerabilidades e Proteção – GEPJUV/UFPA, Militante e ativista de direitos humanos.
