The plurality of issues and themes in knowledge production in contemporary Applied Linguistics as a field of research has been productive, especially those related to real-life language issues. It is with great satisfaction that Revista Linguagem em Foco presents this diversity of themes in the articles that make up Issue 3, Volume 16, continuous flow. With the collaboration of professors, researchers, and graduate students, we have gathered nineteen articles and one book review. The main themes addressed in the articles range from language teaching and learning; reflections on the application of theories and methodological issues in teaching-learning contexts; studies on academic and critical literacies; studies on collaborative textual production and creative writing in basic education; translation; studies on interlanguage and grammatical aspects in light of a linguistic theory. This diversity also includes articles discussing changes in the way we view the world, questioning socio-discursive hegemonic positions, and the advances in technology and social networks that are part of our daily lives. We now proceed to describe the nineteen scientific articles and the book review that comprise this issue.
