Environmental education and the school curriculum: some reflections

The awakening of citizenship is one of the most liberating moments in the lives of children, young people, and adults. It is when the notion of rights and duties transcends mere individual interests to translate a new world view, which reflects the responsibility of each person to build full, plural, and democratic collective values that ensure human well-being and respect for all forms of life in their most varied manifestations. In the search for solutions that alter or subvert the current order, the theme proposes new models of more harmonic relationships with nature, new paradigms, and new ethical values with a holistic view, adopts a posture of integration and participation. Comprehensive, critical, problem-solving education. To support the study, the methodology we use is based on the concepts of Minayo (1999), when he says that when designing a research project, the researcher will be dealing with at least three dimensions: technical, which are the scientific rules for construction from the project; ideological, which is related to the researcher's choices, always in view of the historical moment; and, scientific, since it surpasses common sense through the scientific method. We can characterize our research as exploratory and bibliographical, since we seek theoretical basis with authors such as Brazil (2018, 2001), Epagri (2014), Figueiredo (1999), Gil (2002) and Minayo (1999) among others.
