Author Guidelines

The flow of articles for Rev.Pemo is open for spontaneous demand, as well as for the proposition of dossiers. However, in order to avoid endogeny, we are not accepting articles from authors of the State University of Ceará.

Submission of papers

Proposals must be submitted via internet, according to the tutorial, through the address: https://revistas.uece.br/index.php/revpemo

Before sending the article, it should be checked to see if all the authors are registered on the platform of the journal with their respective metadata inserted.  It is important to clarify that the following fields must be filled in: full name, e-mail, country, URL of the LATTES link (in case of Brazilians), ORCID, institutional affiliation and mini-résumé.

The articles must be sent in Word for Windows, version 6.0 or higher, with extension (.doc), in Arial font, size 12, on A4 paper, with 1.5 line spacing, top and bottom margins of 2.5 cm and left and right margins of 2.1 cm. The articles should have a minimum length of 12 and a maximum length of 25 pages (except for justified exceptions). In the case of educational products, the maximum length can be up to 40 pages. Identification and all requested information must be included in the template because we conduct open peer review, without preserving the anonymity of authors or reviewers.

The manuscripts may contain a maximum of six authors, equally responsible for the article, save justified exceptions, and preferably at least one with a doctoral degree. The contribution of each author will be indicated in a specific field at the end of the text, expressly stating his/her contribution.

A one year interval must be respected for publication by the same author or co-author.

The title must be in Portuguese and English, lowercase, centralized, bold, initial capital letter, Arial 12 font. It must contain a maximum of 15 words (articles, prepositions, etc. are included).

Abstracts should have a minimum of 100 and a maximum of 150 words. They should be in Portuguese and English, accompanied by keywords (minimum of three and maximum of five). Font Arial, size 11, with single line spacing.

OBS: The keywords must appear in the Brazilian Thesaurus of Education:

http://pergamum.inep.gov.br/pergamum/biblioteca/pesquisa_thesauro.php?resolution2=1024_1

References must follow the ABNT norms and be inserted both in the journal system, during submission of the article, and in the Word file at the end of the text, in alphabetical order, with single line spacing, one "enter" separating each reference and aligned to the left. The use of updated theoretical references is recommended.

Notes should be used only when strictly necessary, for some clarification, in footnotes. They must be succinct, body 10, aligned to the left, with single spacing. They must be presented in cardinal numbers, with unique and consecutive numbering for the entire article.

In the case of research involving human beings, the Terms of Free and Informed Consent (TCLE) corresponding to the research subjects or the approval opinion of the ethics committee must be sent in a supplementary document.

It is necessary to mention any existing conflict of interest in the comments to the editor field. In this same text box, insert the referencing and availability of the data used and generated by the research, data processing program code, and other material underlying the text for the purpose of evaluation, reuse, and reproducibility.

The responsibility for the content of the manuscript is solely that of the author(s), that is, the journal "Práticas Educativas, Memórias e Oralidades" (Rev.Pemo) is not responsible for the data, opinions and content forwarded for publication.

By sending the article to the journal, the author agrees not to forward it to other publication vehicle(s) for a period of six months, as of the sending date.

Rev.Pemo does not charge authors any kind of submission, evaluation or editorial fees. The journal's technical team is responsible for evaluating, correcting Portuguese, standardizing, layout, checking similarity in Ithenticat, XML tagging with Amelica and assigning the DOI, at no cost to the authors. However, translation into a second language is the responsibility of the authors and is carried out by professionals appointed by the journal.

Proposals for Dossier/Thematic Issue

The journal Rev.Pemo welcomes proposals for dossiers/thematic issues, composed of 10 (ten) to 18 (eighteen) articles that adhere to the aforementioned guidelines and comply with the following instructions:

  • All articles must have a close relationship with the proposed title/theme.
  • The dossier/thematic issue should feature authors from different regions, with a maximum of 2 (two) texts from the same institution.
  • The proposal should include a minimum of 1 (one) international article for every 6 (five) national articles.

Illustrations

Tables, charts, figures, and graphs should be inserted within the body of the text with titles and captions in accordance with the ABNT (Brazilian Association of Technical Standards).

Citations

In-text citations should follow the author-date system and adhere to the ABNT norms for this system.

For direct or literal quotes, the author's name outside parentheses should have only the initial capitalized, while inside parentheses, all letters should be capitalized (AUTHOR, date, page). Quotations up to three lines should be enclosed in quotation marks without italics. Quotations longer than three lines should be indented 4 cm from the left margin, in font size 10, single-spaced, without quotation marks or italics.

For indirect quotes, if the author's name is mentioned in the text, only the initial should be capitalized, followed by the date in parentheses. If the author's name is within parentheses, all letters should be capitalized, and the date should be included without the page reference.

Author mentions in the text should follow the ABNT Technical Standards - NBR 10520, August 2002.

Examples: Fialho (2019, p. 15); (FIALHO, 2019) and (FIALHO, 2019, p. 21).

  • References at the end of the text should comply with the ABNT Technical Standards, NBR 10520, August 2002.
  • Avoid using dashes (______) and instead repeat the author's name when there is more than one reference from the same author. Examples:
