In this first issue of volume 15 of Linguagem em Foco Scientific Journal, we disclose to the academic and school community 15 works approved in continuous flow, research results in the area of Applied Linguistics, produced by researchers, professors and students )s of postgraduate studies. The texts are distributed as follows: 12 scientific articles, a review, a translation of a book chapter and an interview. Since Applied Linguistics is a transdisciplinary field of studies that investigates problems related to the use of language (gem) in the most varied contexts, the contents of the scientific articles published in this issue cover the most different themes, theoretical precepts and methodologies and a version on teaching and acquisition of native and foreign languages, about the lexicon, text production, language course planning. In all works, the focus is on language and the latent discourse that underlies the issues in these articles.
