Abstract

The settlements of
Santana (Ceará), Conquista na
Fronteira (Santa Catarina), Antonio
Conselheiro (Mato Grosso), and the
quilombola communities of Oriximiná
(Pará) have emerged and are
perceived as models of organization
and resistance to capitalist agriculture.
Degraded farms and agricultural
enterprises, controlled by a single
owner, now guarantee the survival of
thousands of people. This article offers
methodological insights, the results of
collective action, and lessons learned
from experience.
