Movimentos sociais e educação como ferramenta de empoderamento de mulheres negras perspectivas para o desenvolvimento sustentável

Abstract

This article analyzes the role of Black women's social movements in Portugal, understanding them as informal educational spaces that contribute to individual and collective empowerment. Based on the problem of the academic and political invisibility of these practices, we sought to understand how initiatives such as FEMAFRO, INMUNE, and the NGO Pé de Potência mobilize methodologies centered on acceptance, self-knowledge, and identity valorization. The results show that these movements produce significant impacts, strengthening the self-esteem, critical awareness, and social participation of Black women, while also building networks of solidarity and community action. However, challenges remain related to institutional recognition, financial support, and the academic systematization of these practices. We conclude that quality education, in line with the Sustainable Development Goals, must integrate these intersectional experiences as an essential part of social transformation.
