The article analyzes the
relevance of the traditional knowledge
of small peasant producers in the face
of the crisis in the Mexican countryside
and food insecurity. Based on the
case of the Xico crater, in the Valle
de Chalco, it highlights the impact of
public policies and peasant resistance
on the production of native maize
through agroecological practices that
link traditional knowledge and new
strategies in peri-urban territories of
the Valley of Mexico.
