This brief essay aims to reflect on the positive influences of Paulo Freire's thought in the manifest Pedagogy of Multiliteracies (NLG, 1996), which has strong implications in the National Common Curricular Base - BNCC. The question that guides all our reflection is: Why didn't we make this direct bridge with Freire before, or even yet? We let the reader infer the answer (s) from reading the world and the word, as Paulo Freire teaches us.
