This article presents a study held in a private school, in the city of Parnaíba-PI, with students of the 8th grade of elementary school. We aim to report an experience with a didactic sequence in the teaching Portuguese, from the discursive genre public announcement, and to analyze a didactic sequence that had as a guiding thread a text taken from the textbook and four texts used by the students. The relationship of activities is anchored both in dialogical theory and in the models of didactic sequences aimed at teaching discursive genres. We used as main authors: Bakhtin (2003 [1979]), (2015 [1934-1936]), Schneuwly, Dolz (2004), Lopes-Rossi (2015), Rojo (2013). Among other results, we highlight the fact of working with a didactic sequence that allows the student to know the social functions of the textual genre and its compositional, thematic and stylistic aspects, and also, we highlight the involvement of students in activities, by sequenced, planned, collaborative and connected with reading and writing practices of real texts.
