Resumo

Os resultados do referendo do Brexit, ocorrido no Reino Unido em 23 de junho de 2016, tiveram impactos que vão além do âmbito político. Também tiveram repercussões pedagógicas na já problemática situação do estudo das línguas estrangeiras modernas. Além disso, também pôde haver afetado a maneira como as pessoas entendem a importância e os benefícios de se estudar e falar outros idiomas. Existem vários fatores que influenciam o número de pessoas que estudam línguas estrangeiras, e estes vão desde o tradicional até o gerencial. Este artigo visa fornecer alguns insights e possíveis soluções para o terrível panorama das línguas estrangeiras modernas dentro das limitações existentes.

Biografia do Autor

Carlos Sanz Mingo, Cardiff University

Senior Lecturer in Hispanic Studies and Translation Studies in the Univeristy of Cardiff, Wales. In 2008 he defended his PhD thesis on the trilogy “The Warlord Chronicles” by Bernard Cornwell. His research interests are the Arthurian Legend, paedagogiy of MFL and translation practice.
