The objective of this paper is to propose a reflection that points out the connections between Adam’s (2019) prototype of the narrative sequence and Rabatel’s (2016) point of view. These are two theoretical perspectives that, although located in different fields of investigation, are based on the textual configuration and the meanings of the texts in use. Therefore, for the interests of textual linguistics (the theoretical area to which we are affiliated), this integration can contribute to the understanding of the indirect argumentativity (Rabatel, 2016, based on Amossy, 2011) of the narratives, which also has repercussions for issues related to the learning of the Portuguese language with a focus on texts. The discussion demands the recognition of the macropropositions (MP) of the narrative sequence – particularly, the MP “evaluation” –, as well as the description of the points of view as the result of the enunciative game of speakers and enunciators. We hope to clarify that the MP “evaluation” actually comprises the main point of view (or points of view) of a text.
