The Performative Role of Language in the Fight for Recognition of a Victim of the Necropolitics in Rio

This article discusses the mediatic construction of the murder of Cláudia da Silva Ferreira, a resident of the suburb of Madureira, RJ and its performative effects (BUTLER, 1997) in different time-spaces. We intend to: contextualize the case of the "dragged woman" and explain the notion of language, explore the concepts of biopolitics (FOUCAULT, 2008), sovereignty (FOUCAULT, 2008; AGAMBEN, 2004) and necropolitics (MBEMBE, 2011; 2014) in understanding the relationship between language and violence and, based on data from an ongoing doctoral research, expose discursive practices of resistance in virtual environments that seek to give recognition to this unnamed woman, without face and without identity.
