Gerson Ipirajá is a native of Fortaleza and began activities in visual arts from 1994 by encouraging and guiding of Zé Tarcísio from Aracatí /CE. In 2000, he began attendig courses and engraving workshops in various techniques with renowned engravers such as: Eduardo Eloy, Ana Letícia Quadros, Evandro Carlos Jardim, Ruben Grillo, Gabriel Arcanjo, Mestre Hélio Soares and Miriam Tolpollar. Since then, he actively participates in Exhibitions in Brazil and abroad with emphasis on : Triennale Mondial d'estampes de Chamarlieres - France ( 2021 ), Triennale Xilon Greechen - Switzerland ( 2021 ), United Nations - 7 5 Years of ONU - United States of America and Switzerland ( 2021 ), International Print Biennial Varna - Bulgaria ( 2019 and 2011 ), National Engraving Exhibition -House of Woodcut Museum - Ribeirão Preto/SP ( 2018 ) , Salão de Abril - Fortaleza/CE ( 2018- Design Award , 2017, 2006, 2005 and 2004 ). The artist is part of the Collective In-Grafika, and is professor of Woodcut and Lithography at the Thomaz Pompeu Sobrinho School of Arts and Crafts (Fortaleza/CE).
