Although studies on the nation of the late twentieth century concentrated on affirming its artificiality, authors like Benedict Anderson showed that the nation was a historical construction, internally heterogeneous, that generated deep attachments in the subjects. We start from that approach to explore ideas about the nation in a group of workers from the Argentine Patagonia. We will present our theoretical framework, then the methodological strategy implemented and, finally, preliminary results.
