Abstract

The text seeks to understand the informal labour and the Government support, according to the perception of people involved, questioning whether this policy
is a way to encourage formalization. By means of a documentary research and semi-structured interviews, its results show that “informal economy” is, currently,
a term more appropriate than “informal sector” to designate the activities analyzed.
