Raimundo Santos Bida is a plastic artist born in Nazaré das Farinhas, a city located in the recôncavo of Bahia. He begins to draw and falls in love as a child with paintings at the age of three. His first work on canvas was conducted at the age of 11, when he got to know Pelourinho, in the historic center of Salvador. During this period, he became involved with the artistic movement and participated in numerous exhibitions, biennials, and other events in the art world. At the age of 18, he exhibited for the first time outside Brazil in the United States. Today, he holds almost 80 international exhibitions in several countries. His work is a portrait of the Northeastern people, and the basis of the work is naïve art, but it is greatly influenced by various movements such as modernism, cubism, and contemporary art.
