Based on the experiences of two Syrian refugees who sought legal protection in the city of Fortaleza, this paper seeks to analyze the conflicts and perceptions
of these actors regarding social
suffering before, during, and after the refugee venture. The aim of the article is to understand the identity processes of refugees and the category of refugee, from a sociological perspective. Therefore, it is expected to contribute
to the scientific debate and improve public policies on the subject.
