The shrinking of the armies

Statistics indicate global trend of
reduction of military forces. The
phenomenon is led by the richest
countries. The authors show that
this is not about slowing down their
military capabilities, but in increasing
replacement of combatants by highly
sophisticated and considerably more
lethal equipment.
