With the event of the Russian revolution, several intellectuals focused on the task of forming revolutionary organizations. The role of a “new type” of political party, from a Leninist perspective, surpassed the limits of reformist parties. In the Gramscian conception, the collective intellectual or “modern prince” was necessary for the revolutionary process. Mariátegui contributed his experiences and political activities to build the Leninist Party in Peru. These three authors converged in their ideas of the party and the revolution.
