The twentieth century, in the words of Eric Hobsbawm, began in 1914 with World War I and ended with the collapse of the Soviet Union in 1991. The end of the Soviet Union still resonates with many questions to be explained; this article aims to examine the causes of the end of the USSR. As for the methodological procedures, it will be a qualitative work of historical reconstitution, emphasizing the decades of 1980 and 1990.
