The revolutionary movement from the Revolution of 1917 was decisive for the Marxist development of Mariátegui. It discusses the compatibility between
theory and praxis of the Peruvian author and his way of “territorializing” Marxism, adapting the historical materialist analysis to concrete conditions and Latin American specificities. It concludes by indicating how the dialectical analysis of the national with the international plan and the emphasis given to the
experiences of local self-organization seemed to them fundamental to weave a revolutionary praxis.
