The article discusses the Southern African Development Community (SADC): emergence, historical, political context and regional integration, based on literature review and documentary research. After World War II, Africa creates nationalist movements for decolonization, development and unity between countries. SADC arises from tensions: colonial rule and South African conflicts. Countries unite in a bloc to reduce South Africa's economic dependency and isolate apartheid.
