The article aims to
explore the concepts of territory,
territoriality, and multiterritoriality
to understand the social and cultural
dynamics materialized in quilombola
territories in Rio de Janeiro. The
research adopted a document
review methodology, drawing on
contemporary articles and dialogues
with authors such as R. Haesbaert and
M. Santos. It highlights the theoretical
and political relevance of the topic,
advocating for public policies that
ensure these communities’ territorial
rights amid socio-spatial disputes.
