Abstract

This article's main objective is to discuss the topic: work, technology and ideology in Álvaro Vieira Pinto. In this sense, we seek to present a theoretical reflection in light of the ideas of the Brazilian philosopher, especially in his book “The concept of technology”. Therefore, we understand that through work man builds his own reality. It is the way of being of men in the world. In this sense, every concrete act of work presupposes a practical interaction with nature. This relationship has as its fundamental unity subjectivity and objectivity, thought and reality. Technology constitutes an expression of this socially developed human capacity to create the new through work. Thus, based on the author's ideas we can understand that lower animals are not capable of producing, as nature produces for them what is necessary to survive. Otherwise, in man, there is no longer the direct influence of nature. The intrinsic development of his physiological and intellective peculiarities enabled him to resolve contradictions with the natural environment on his own. With full capacity to reflect the reflection of reality in the form of “abstract” and “universal” ideas, he managed to direct the production of means to overcome difficulties.
