Gramscian and Trotskist alternatives to Waltz’s IR

The theoretical debate of International Relations at the end of the Cold War was influenced by Waltz’s realist theory. This paper aims to explore theoretical alternatives, based on the Marxist body of thought, particularly the Gramscian perspective of Adam Morton and Justin Rosenberg’s Trotskyist perspective, in the period following the Cold War. The selection of these authors is due to the fruitfulness of their debate in the contemporary Marxist field.
