On resistance, non-violence and civil disobedience
Keywords:
International relations, Human rights, Right of civil resistance, Civil desobedience, Conscious objectionAbstract
Conscientious objection and the separation of the right of resistance or civil resistance (in Hannah Arendt and Celso Lafer); of civil disobedience (in Thoreau); and nonviolence (in Norberto Bobbio). Sometimes they are concepts used as synonyms or similar. Each brings, however, a different origin, a theoretical, historical and methodological reference. We intend to clarify the similarities and differences between them, based on historical and bibliographical research using analytical and hypothetical- deductive methods.
