This article reconstructs the history of the Muslim Brotherhood, the main movement of political Islam, throughout the history of Egypt, spanning the monarchist period and the dictatorships of Nasser, Sadat and Mubarak. The objective is to foment the discussion about the group and to contribute to studies about Egypt and the Middle East.
