Abstract

A review of the work of renowned authors and the analysis of the main theoretical perspectives that influenced strategic thought in twentieth century is at the base of this argument that wars and military power are conditioned by economic dynamics. This study shows that the security and defense aspirations and their relation to economic factors are common to different authors of even diverse theoretical and ideological convictions.
