This article aims to analyze the relationship between one of the greatest figures of Latin American Marxism, the Peruvian José Carlos Mariátegui, and the most impactful political process in the twentieth century, the Russian Revolution. To do so, one will look at both the author’s analysis of events in revolutionary Russia through his writings produced over the years and at different moments of his life, ranging from youth to maturity, as well as the reflections that the construction
of socialism generated in his thinking, expanding the horizons of his theoretical formulations and political propositions.
