Abstract

Created in the second decade
of the 21st century, Agenda 2063 is directed to African development and international engagement. The work analyses its main characteristics, based on the division of its goals as symbolic or objective, as well
as the aspirations and advancements of this initiative, in addition to identifying potential challenges. Based on academic
works and official documents, especially from the African Union, it is expected to demonstrate that, despite its limited results, the initiative is promising in
terms of possible transformations on the continental level.

Doutor em Ciência Política (PPGPol/UFRGS) e Mestre em Estudos Estratégicos Internacionais (PPGEEI/UFRGS). Graduado em Relações Internacionais (UFRGS) e em Ciências Econômicas (UFRGS)

Anselmo Otavio, Universidade do Vale do Rio Dos Sinos

Professor do curso de graduação em Relações Internacionais da Universidade do Vale do Rio dos Sinos (UNISINOS), Doutor e Mestre pelo Programa de Pós-Graduação em Estudos Estratégicos Internacionais, na Faculdade de Ciências Econômicas da Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul (PPGEEI/FCE/UFRGS). Tem graduação em Relações Internacionais pela Faculdade de Filosofia e Ciências da Universidade Estadual Paulista (FFC/UNESP) campus de Marília. É também pesquisador associado do Centro Brasileiro de Estudos Africanos (CEBRAFRICA). Tem entre suas áreas de interesse: História das Relações Internacionais, Integração Política e Econômica no continente africano, Política Externa da África do Sul, e Renascimento Africano.
