The South Atlantic, in recent years, has grown in importance on the international scene because of the possibility of extraction of natural resources and use of maritime routes. Considering this context, the article aimed at analyzing the presence of the main actors in this region, as well as the United Nations Declaration that established a Zone of Peace and Cooperation in the South Atlantic in 1986.
