Abstract

The Sandinista Revolution was a victorious political process of national liberation in Nicaragua (1979- 1990), in which women’s participation was essential. They were an organic
part of the revolution, which triumphed due to the support and active presence of Nicaraguan women. The objective of this article is to delineate the relationship between women’s struggle and the national question in the context of hegemonic disputes in Latin America.

Doutora em Ciência Política pela Universidade Estadual de Campinas (UNICAMP); Docente do Programa de Pós-Graduação em Ciências Sociais da Universidade Estadual de Maringá (PGC/EM); Coordenadora do Grupo de Pesquisa “Política, Estado e América Latina” (GPPEAL/UEM). Pesquisadora do Laboratório de Estudos do Tempo Presente (LabTempo/UEM). Tem experiência na área de Ciência Política, trabalha principalmente com temas referentes à Estado e poder, Cultura e poder, hegemonias em disputa, teoria política, política internacional e América Latina.

Nicolle Montalvão, Universidade Estadual de Maringá (UEM)

Mestra em Ciências Sociais pelo Programa de Pós-graduação em Ciências Sociais (PGC - UEM) e licenciada em Ciências Sociais pela Universidade Estadual de Maringá (UEM). Professora do Quadro Próprio de Magistério de Sociologia da rede pública de ensino do estado do Paraná. Membro do Grupo de Pesquisa Política, Estado e América Latina (GPPEAL - UEM). Tem experiência na área de Ciência Política, com ênfase em Feminismo, processos políticos e América Latina.
