Abstract

The article analyzes how
Chantal Mouffe and Ernesto Laclau
start from the Marxist intellectual
tradition, mainly from the thought of
Antonio Gramsci, in order to reflect
on issues such as political articulation, identity and hegemony. To this end, it presents an overview of Marxism and what the authors understand as its crisis, from the perspective of contingency. It analyzes how his concept of hegemony is developed in order to encompass contingency in the field of radical democracy theory.
