This article aims to analyze the novel Beiradão by Álvaro Maia. The composition of the novel are the stories and accounts of rowers and bordermen from the Madeira River region. From postcolonial theory, the work focuses on the rubber tapper, who is deconstructed
from his values by the relationship between exploiter boss and exploited rubber tapper.
