This article presents a historical investigation on colonialism and neocolonialism as models of exploitation of Haiti by France. Historical sources are used to show that Haiti has been the perfect laboratory for experimenting and refining these models. The first was experimented through colonial relations of production while the second established neocolonial relations helping France to accumulate wealth at the expense of Haitians.
