The article discussed how sociotropic evaluation of the economy and social mobility relate to the level of adherence to democracy or to authoritarian forms of government, during the 2006-2017 cycle. The results showed that assessing the country’s economy well and perceiving upward social mobility tends to lead
individuals to declare more unconditional support for the democratic system and to show lesser degrees of dissatisfaction. In addition, these individuals tend to support fewer military coups in high crime scenarios.
