This article engages with recent initiatives against Israel at the International Court of Justice to discuss the role of international law and some of the factors preventing the realization of a just peace through the realization of the Palestinians' right to self-determination. From a critical Marxist perspective, the article argues that certain achievements are insufficient if limited to a symbolic character and must be implemented at the political level.
