The article presents the contributions of Vânia Bambirra, one of the founders of the Marxist Theory of Dependency (TMD), to the critical understanding of dependent capitalism in Latin America and the effects of monopolistic integration on peripheral economy countries. To this end, we will present her life, intellectual and activist career, as well as her method of approaching dependent capitalism based on an analysis of the integral history of Latin American countries.
