The place of reproductive work in capitalism and its relationship with the oppression of women has sparked controversies among feminists and Marxists throughout history. This article aims to examine these divergences from the perspective of the Social Reproduction Theory (SRT) introduced by Lise Vogel in the 1980s and revitalized in the contemporary neoliberal context. The main contributions of the SRT to be analyzed are the expansion of the Marxist theory of value and the proposition of a unitary totality.
