Abstract

Our main objective is to discuss about the images of the region in the national scene, focusing on the perception of the fragmentation that stresses the regions and contributes to the superiority
of one over the others. Our theoreticalmethodological
perspective is based on the
insurgent NE, cultural representations and political fragmentation. We will analyze the
images of the Northeast in the nation, and the factors that contributed to the devalued
view of other regions towards this territory.
