A TRAJETÓRIA RESILIENTE DE UMA LÍDER JUVENIL, GESTORA ESCOLAR E ESTUDIOSA CEARENSE DA ETNIA KANINDÉ

Abstract

In this article, conceived for the debut issue of Revista Kixará, written by an indigenous woman – with a legitimate place of speech (Gonzalez, 1988) – and guided by our master’s advisor, we highlight our contributions to the fight for the rights of the traditional peoples of Ceará, especially the Kanindé people – to which we belong. As a report of experience, here we present our trajectory as a youth leader, school administrator and scholar of our ethnic group, reflecting what the title presents – but not without first tracing the trajectory of the native peoples of Brazil from 1988 to the present with regard to the conquest of our rights and shedding light on some female indigenous leaders before and today who serve as inspiration to us. By combining what Freire (1987), Santos (2018) and others advocate with our narrative of what we have experienced in practice, we conclude that works like this advocate, decolonially and in the first person, for the struggles of the ancestral peoples of Brazil, with a special focus on indigenous women who are increasingly leaving the land of their villages to occupy spaces outside them.
