This study aims to analyze the morbidity and mortality data of nursing professionals due to COVID-19 in the scientific literature. This is an integrative review of the literature. Data were collected in the databases: MEDLINE, BDENF and LILACS through the virtual health library (VHL) from August to October 2022. Results: 16 studies were included in the sample. Regarding the country of origin, Brazil concentrated most of them with 9 (56%) published in Portuguese. The publication year 2022 had the highest number of publications with 11 (67%). The cross-sectional method was the most used design in articles, present in 12 (75%) studies. It is noteworthy that only 4 studies presented deaths. In addition to identifying the number of affected workers, other studies also sought to verify associations with other variables, such as: occupational conditions, use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), sociodemographic and socioeconomic aspects. Conclusion: the review contributed to showing the impact on the lives of nursing professionals and to pointing out deficiencies in supporting the professional category with regard to exposure to risks.
