SOBRE AS DEFINIÇÕES DA METAFÍSICA
UMA ANÁLISE A PARTIR DE ARISTÓTELES E AL-KINDĪ

This article aims to conduct a philosophical analysis of the definitions of metaphysics in the thought of Aristotle and Al-Kindī, focusing on their views on God and the relationship between metaphysics and theology. Regarding the First Principle, Al-Kindī adopts a Neoplatonic perspective, diverging from Aristotle's conception of the Unmoved Mover. Through this study, the relationship between philosophy and religion in Al-Kindī's vision is explored, questioning whether philosophy merely serves to support Islamic beliefs or maintains its autonomy. The research is based on bibliographic studies of the main metaphysical works of the philosophers.
