PATRÓN ALIMENTARIO Y DIABETES TIPO 1

Los estudios sobre epidemiología nutricional han demostrado asociaciones entre los patrones dietéticos y la diabetes. Este estudio se llevó a cabo para identificar patrones dietéticos y evaluar su asociación con la presencia o ausencia de diabetes tipo 1. En este estudio transversal con cuarenta y cinco pacientes con diabetes tipo 1 y 45 sujetos adultos sanos, se recopilaron datos demográficos sociales y de estilo de vida mediante cuestionarios estructurados. La ingesta de alimentos se estimó mediante un recordatorio de 24 horas. Los patrones dietéticos se identificaron mediante análisis factorial de componentes principales, seguido de rotación ortogonal varimax. Se utilizó la regresión de Poisson para estimar las razones de prevalencia de las variables independientes sobre las variables dependientes. Se identificaron tres patrones principales: prudente, merienda y occidental. En conjunto, explicaron el 34,49% de la varianza. El patrón prudente fue aquel que representa la ingesta de grupos de alimentos recomendados en una dieta saludable. No hubo asociación significativa entre los patrones y la presencia o ausencia de diabetes tipo 1.
