Acompanhamento nutricional melhora práticas alimentares entre atletas

Avaliar as práticas alimentares e os seus fatores associados entre atletas de diversas modalidades. A Escala de Práticas Alimentares foi aplicada entre atletas de diversas modalidades esportivas e de diversas regiões do Brasil. As análises de Mann-Whitnney, Teste T de Student e Modelos de Regressão Linear foram empregadas para avaliar as diferenças entre grupos e a associação de variáveis dependentes com as pontuações na EPA. Ao todo foram avaliados 114 atletas de 16 modalidades esportivas, sendo 52,6% do sexo feminino. A média de pontuação na Escala de Práticas Alimentares (EPA) pelos atletas foi de 45,96 pontos. Atletas do sexo feminino apresentaram maior pontuação final na escala em comparação aos do sexo masculino (47,28 vs 44,44; d de Cohen = 0,31; P<0,05). A variável “ter acompanhamento nutricional” associou-se a EPA total (p<0,001) e para a dimensão 1 e 2 (p<0,001 e p<0,05). Atletas que possuem acompanhamento nutricional apresentam um aumento médio de 5,9 pontos na pontuação final, 3,7 pontos na pontuação da dimensão 1 e 2,1 pontos na pontuação da dimensão em relação aos indivíduos que não apresentam acompanhamento nutricional. O acompanhamento com nutricionista está associado a melhores práticas alimentares entre atletas, principalmente na organização e planejamento doméstico.
