Main Article Content
Abstract
The training of teachers in pre-primary and primary education in the public sector in Guatemala has been strengthened through the Academic Program for Professional Teacher Development (PADEP/D). A key player has been the facilitator, who, through their roles in facilitating student teachers strengthens teaching competencies. The study's overall objective was to determine the main perceptions of PADEP/D student teachers regarding the educational services offered by facilitators as actors in their ongoing training. Methodologically, it was based on a mixed approach with an exploratory scope. All PADEP/D cohorts, with cultural and gender representation, were included as part of the design. Among the results, they report that the facilitators possess mastery and knowledge of the area they facilitate, foster a climate of horizontal training and assertive communication, implement innovative, active, participatory, relevant, and inclusive methodologies, and utilize innovative strategies.
